We’d like to extend a very warm welcome to Year 1, to all of our children, parents, carers, family and friends.
This year, the childen in Year 1 are taught in 2 classes. The classrooms are located in the main building on the ground floor (G3 and G4). The children will be taught by Mrs Johnson and Mrs Smith.
In Year 1, pupils will complete a Phonic Screening Check. This will take place during the week commencing 14th June 2027.
Year 1 PE days are on a Tuesday and Friday. Pupils should come to school wearing their PE kit on their designated day.
Start: 8:50am
Lunch: 11:50am – 12:50pm
Finish: 3:15pm
Religious Education is provided for all pupils except for those withdrawn at the request of their parents. Parents have the right to withdraw their child from some or all RE lessons and activities. Teachers and the RE leader engage in discussion with the parents to explore whether or not withdrawal is the only option, ways to accommodate the family’s beliefs within the lessons and practical arrangements for withdrawal if this is seen as the only option. Where pupils are withdrawn from RE, schools have a duty to supervise them, though not to provide alternative teaching/activities.
